1. Who we are
ThesisAI is an AI-assisted research and writing platform for theses, dissertations, and other scholarly work. We operate from Ghana, and our prices are in US dollars. Questions about this policy go to support@thesisai.live.
2. What we collect
- Account: your name, email address, and profile picture from Google when you sign in.
- Your research: project titles, topics, outlines, drafts, sources, notes, supervisor feedback, and the writing sample you give us so drafts match your voice.
- Uploaded files: the files you upload and the text we extract from them. Stored files are encrypted at rest.
- Questionnaires: the questions you write and the anonymous answers your respondents give.
- Help requests, messages, and feedback: what you send us through Expert Help, the contact form, or Rate ThesisAI.
- Payments: your Stripe customer reference, your plan, and its dates. Stripe handles your card; we never see or store card numbers.
- Account analytics: the dates your account was active and an approximate country, as described in About account analytics.
- Logs: technical records of requests and actions, such as runs and exports, kept to keep the service secure and fix problems.
3. How we use your data
- To run ThesisAI: research, drafting, review, checks, and exports of your work.
- To send the emails the service needs, such as payment and plan notices.
- To process payments through Stripe.
- To answer help requests you send us.
- To keep the service secure and fix problems.
We do not sell your data. We do not use your research content to train AI models.
4. Who we share it with
We share only what each service needs to work. Each provider has its own privacy policy.

If you turn on a share link for a project, anyone with the link can read that project until you turn sharing off.
5. Storage and security
Connections are encrypted in transit. Uploaded files are encrypted at rest. You sign in with Google only, so we never store a password, and we store session tokens only as hashes.
To delete your account, email support@thesisai.live. Deletion removes your account, projects, research content, uploaded files, and activity records. Copies can remain in backups for a limited time until those backups are replaced. Stripe keeps its own payment records under its own policy.
6. Your rights
Under the Ghana Data Protection Act, 2012 (Act 843) and other laws that apply to you, you can ask us to:
- give you a copy of the personal data we hold about you
- correct data that is wrong
- delete your account and its data
- stop a use of your data you object to

7. Cookies
We use one session cookie to keep you signed in and one short-lived cookie that protects the Google sign-in step. We do not use advertising cookies, tracking pixels, or third-party analytics. Signing out clears the session cookie.
8. Children
ThesisAI is for people aged 16 and over. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 16.
9. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy. We will tell you by email about material changes. Using the service after a change means you accept it.
